Sabaton at The Gramercy Theatre in NYC

This was my first SABATON show but it won't be my last. I was gobsmackingly blown away by this band. They have everything you need to have a rocking good time! Joakim Broden had that "Village People Cop" thing happening and it took a lot for me to get over it and remember this is a Swedish band. But the 70s are strong in my midichlorians. He's got an amazing set of pipes and can work a stage. Reminded me of a metal Freddy Mercury. The bass player, Par Sundstrom had a perpetual smile on his face. It was quite infectious and you realize he was happy to be in NYC, happy to be playing on stage, and just generally, .... happy! Oskar and Ricard are responsible for the twin guitar attack. Daniel Myhr on keyboards and Daniel Mullback round out this Swedish Viking Metal Band. The band has been around since 1999! I feel quite late to the SABATON party, but Joakim promised that this stop in NYC (their second ever) won't be the last and a headlining tour of the USA may be on the horizon. Count me there!
